WHO WE ARE
HOLY VANILLA!
Our goal is to turn "vanilla" Christians into "spicy chocolate" Christians.
We believe in Jesus wholeheartedly.
We believe the Bible is underutilized.
We are not a church.
We are not Pastors.
We are intentionally independent of a church denomination but with a whole bunch of Christian church and faith experience.
We have a spiritual covering from an established pastor with an impeccable reputation, but we are not members of this pastor’s church, nor do we represent all the beliefs of this pastor’s church.
From an accounting/business perspective, we are not a 501(c)(3), and any financial contributions will not be tax-deductible to the giver.
CONTENT CAUTION
Ultimately, we hope everyone is uplifted through our videos even though the subjects and/or angles we take may come across as, well, cross (pun kind of intended). Many of you will disagree with us on many topics while others may agree on most things, but not on everything. We’re okay with all of this. If you don’t like what you see and/or hear on our channel, give it a try a few more times or watch something else. No offense taken. Holy Vanilla! is not for everybody.
Having said the above, we will love and respect everyone regardless of their race, sexual orientation, protestant denomination, finances, and drug usage. And just because we love and respect everyone doesn’t mean we agree with what everyone is doing. Just as you don’t agree with Holy Vanilla! on everything, right? No two people in the history of life on earth agree on everything…we don’t think it’s going to happen now, either.
WHY LISTEN TO ME?
MY STORY
God called me to start this video program for what I would describe as a persistent paradox between a) what the average American Christian acts out on a daily basis versus b) what Jesus and the Bible say we should be acting out. The variance between a) and b) gets wider every day within Christianity and it’s killing our faith. The Bible, a readily available and detailed guide to better Christian living, offers wonderful, life-changing lessons that many American Christians ignore. Because of this inconsistency, our faith has become increasingly inefficient in almost every way, especially in the last 25 years, and it’s quite noticeable to me. God has told me to talk about these deficiencies and opportunities publicly.
Within this calling, I love all people and everything they have to say. I cherish each conversation and remember a strong percentage of them. I’ve personally interviewed thousands of people over my lifetime in cities and towns all over America. Christians and non-Christians. Residents and non-residents. Law abiders and criminals. Mentally stable and unstable people. Gay, kind of gay, not gay at all. Red, yellow, black, and white. I enjoy it all! Everyone is a creation of God and should be heard and respected, at a minimum.
I have been a fervent Christian all of my life and led several types of ministries inside and outside of churches for 27+ years. I have also been an executive in business for 24+ years. I have been married to a wonderful, godly woman for 18+ years and we parent two kids. I have lived in small, medium, and large cities and proactively engaged my neighbors. I have traveled over most of America and proactively connected with thousands of strangers. I ask a lot of questions and people tell me a lot of wonderful details about themselves…for some reason. And importantly, I have fallen on my face many times and made many mistakes, which has allowed God to reveal Himself to me in ways I would have never expected. God has been with me through it all, even when I didn’t think He was around.
And I’m looking forward to letting ALL of "that" come out in some way, shape, fashion, and form on each video! Again, it is what God has called me to do.
